ALLIANCE FOR PEACE & JUSTICE TO PRESENT SOUTHERN CAMEROONS’ CASE AT UN FORUM

Buea | London | Geneva: Sunday, November 24, 2024 – The Alliance for Peace & Justice (APJ) in the Former British Southern Cameroons today announced that it would be making a presentation at the United Nations (UN) Forum on Minority Issues holding in Geneva, Switzerland, from November 27-29, 2024. The coveted spot at this UN Forum was secured for the APJ by the International Communities Organisation (ICO), which has been helping leaders of the Former British Southern Cameroons in presenting their case to the international community.
Speaking on behalf of the people of the Former British Southern Cameroons, will be Professor Januarius Asongu, who is chair of the APJ Steering Committee, and has been a longtime advocate of peace, justice, and self-determination for the peoples of the Former British Southern Cameroons.
“The Alliance for Peace & Justice in the Former British Southern Cameroons is dedicated to ending the war over the territory of the Former British Southern Cameroons through a win-win approach to conflict resolution,” said Prof. Asongu. “My speech will highlight the message of the APJ Peace Plan Paper, which calls for a UN-backed peace mission to ensure cessation of hostilities between the Cameroon armed forces and the pro-independence forces of the Former British Southern Cameroons as well as the need to organize a referendum on the future of our territory.”
